The Road Test - Do I Keep Her?
The bike has come back from the dealer's. This is the road test where I decide whether they've fixed her, or whether I'm going to reject the bike and hand it back to Royal Enfield
Since making this vid I’ve swapped out the oe relays with Hitchcock’s uprated items. I discovered that the dealer had not cleaned the dielectric grease off the originals. As you can see, the bike cut out once on this ride. Was that me (as I say in the vid), or was that the relays? It has not cut out once since I cleaned out and replaced the relays. Welcome to the wonderful world of intermittent electrical faults!
Later, I realised that the dealer had given the bike back with the clutch way out of adjustment (and with floppy mirrors), hence the excessive revving to pull away at junctions. I was concentrating so much on the cutting out issue that I didn’t notice.
