Excels INDEX and MATCH functions to lookup and return a value

VLOOKUP is a great function for looking up a value and returning a corresponding value. however, it has its limitations. Many of these limitations can be removed using the new XLOOKUP however that is only available in Excel 365 which many of us do not have.
INDEX and MATCH are a great combination of functions that can be used to overcome some of the limitations of VLOOKUP. MATCH simple returns the relative position in a list and INDEX will return the intersection points. Combined they make a great dynamic lookup.
