Montana PSC rejects NorthWestern Energy's rate hike proposal for 2nd time
The Montana Public Service Commission unanimously declined NorthWestern Energy’s recent rate adjustment application, marking the second rejection this month.
The PSC issued a Notice of Commission Action finding that NorthWestern’s response to its July 10 rate case application failed to meet the Commission’s minimum filing standards.
An official with the energy company said the original request was filed due to inflation and the rising cost of materials.
If approved, the proposed interim rates for electric customers would see an increase of $2.09 per month. Customers using natural gas would see a rise of close of $4.81 per month.
