For quickly adding single outline to text.

For adding text with multiple outlines I will use a free Photoshop action from PhotoshopSupply
👉 Text with Border [FREE Layer Style | ASL File]
When you download the action you also get a layer style to make text with border and multiple outlines. The style is easy to apply to text and shapes, so it's an easy way to outline text in Photoshop. You only need one layer and the text is still editable.
