How to screenshot on a Mac
Have you purchased a new Mac computer and looking for a solution to take a screenshot? Taking screenshots on Mac is a little different than taking a print screen on Windows. In this video, we will learn how to take screenshots in easy steps. Follow these steps.
1. If you want to take the screenshot of the whole screen then press Command + Shift + 3 keys on your keyboard.
2. You will also hear a camera shutter sound effect while taking a print shot.
3. You will find that the screenshot has been saved automatically on your Mac desktop.
4. If you want a screenshot of a selected area of your choice, then press Command + Shift + 4 on your keyboard.
5. You will notice that your mouse cursor has been turned into a crosshair. Drag the mouse on a portion of the screen that you want to capture.
6. This will take a screenshot of a selected area on the Mac.
7. Now, if you want to take a screenshot of an open application window, then press Command + Shift + 4 + Space on your keyboard. Your mouse cursor will be turned into a camera icon.
8. Hover over the mouse on a window and you will notice that the window has been highlighted as a light blue color.
9. Now, click on a highlighted window, and this will take a screenshot and will save the screenshot file on the desktop.
10. You can also take screenshots by using the Preview application on the Mac.
11. Open Preview application, if it is not opened. Click on the File menu at the top left.
12. Hover over the mouse on the Take Screenshot menu, and then you will find three sub-menu options to take a screenshot in different ways.
13. Let’s click on the From Entire Screen sub-menu. You will see that the screenshot has been created and open in the Preview app window.
14. Click on the File menu at the top left of the Preview App, and then click on Save.
15. Choose the location to save the screenshot file and select format as JPEG, and then click on the Save button at the bottom right. This will save your screenshot file.
