Revolution in Cancer Treatment: Synthesizing Anticancer Molecules
This is an article about chemists synthesizing unique anticancer molecules. It discusses the challenges of recreating complex molecules from bryozoans. A team of Yale chemists has successfully synthesized eight of these molecules for the first time. They used a new approach that combines inventive chemical strategy with the latest technology. This approach avoids constructing a reactive ring until the end, uses oxidative photocyclizations, and employs microcrystal electron diffraction analysis. The result is eight new synthetic molecules with potential for further development as anticancer drugs.
