My notes on the ProMaster FW29T Featherweight:
It currently only costs about $150 on Amazon, and has a fluid head that's suitable for video. This means you're getting the legs and head - a complete tripod package - for only a bit more
than a Manfrotto Fluid Head.
Seems very sturdy. It's made of magnesium alloy. Weighs 2.17kg, so not "featherweight" as the name suggests, but still significantly lighter than its competitors.
Can cope with almost any terrain, with its rubberised feet and independent legs that aren't joined by a centre brace. This means that each leg can move freely, and you can put them in some pretty ridiculous positions.
The maximum height of the tripod is about 168cm (which is about 5 and a half feet) - plus, you can extend the centre column and get another 30cm.
It includes the ProMaster 6160 3-Way Deluxe Pan Head, which gives remarkably smooth panning and tilting. This head has individual locks for each axis so you can, for example, pan smoothly while the tilt mechanism is locked tight.
A spirit level is included, and so is a "bull's eye" level. This essentially tells you whether both the pitch and roll are correct - or, in layman's terms, whether the center pole is pointing straight at the ground.
The camera mount has a quick release plate - you can release it by pulling a handle, and attach it by pressing down on the mount plate.
In summary, this professional tripod is great value and relatively inexpensive for what you're getting. It's probably the best sub-$200 tripod you can get in 2016.
