To easily change between different currencies in Google Sheets, simply select the cells containing the currency values, click “Format”, “Number” and “Custom currency”. Then type the name of the currency you are interested in.
But I can already hear you screaming at me that you want to convert from one currency to another based on the current exchange rate. Don’t worry, I got you! For this, we’ll use something fancier, namely the GOOGLEFINANCE function. To use this function write equals GOOGLEFINANCE and within the brackets add quotation marks and write CURRENCY colon and add the ticker of the currency you are converting from, immediately followed by the ticker of the currency you are converting to.
This will give you the conversion rate between two currencies. Now, you can simply multiply the conversion rate with your “original currency” to get the correct amount of money that your original currency would correspond to in a new currency if you were to convert it.
Then if you want to do the same for multiple different currencies you can change the currency tickers to the correct ones for the relevant currencies. Here is a table of the ones that might be of most use to you!
