Many people get surprised when you tell them that Blender, the famously open-source and free to use creative suite, once had a PAID version - and no, I'm not referring to paid Blender addons or custom paid Blender versions. This paid version of Blender is Blender 1.6, which additionally was the very first Windows release of Blender. In 1999, this piece of shareware software had a $95 price tag to unlock all features of Blender 1.6, verified entirely by a .BBKEY file. What does this old version of Blender look like?
