This video is part of the 40 NEW Phrasal Verb challenge of August 2022. You can find all videos of the challenge in the playlist link above. In this video we are going to look at stress and linking in phrasal verbs. Because the particle that joins the verb changes the meaning of the verb, we stress it. Now, some phrasal verbs have two particles and you might wonder which one to stress then? It’s still the first particle that is stressed more. Another thing that can make it a bit difficult to understand phrasal verbs is the linking that happens between the main verb and the first particle. We are going to have a look at several examples so you can practise alongside me!
