Here’s how I did it:
cleaned with @RustOleumBrands krud kutter
scraped with carbide scraper
sanded with 120 grit using my @SurfPrepSandingUse code FURNITUREDR10 for 10% off!
lots and lots of wood bleach/oxalic acid
applied gel stain
used blendal sticks to cover damage
sprayed EZ vinyl sealer
applied several coats of satin lacquer!
This piece was ROUGH. It has taken me forever. I can’t tell you how sad I was after I applied that stain. But I’m so glad I was able to come up with a solution. So here’s my word of advice…. TAKE A BREAK! Don’t give up! Work on another project until you’re in a good enough mindset to come back to it. Talk to your colleagues/furniture flipping internet besties & get advice on what you should do if you ever encounter a problem like mine! Let me know what you think in the comments :)
