This great little phrase means: after something started.
1) She fell asleep five minutes into my lesson. = five minutes after my lesson started
2) An hour into the meeting, I realized I had ketchup on my face. = an hour after the meeting started
3) I got sick just three days into my one month tour of California. = three days after my tour started
