How to shorten jeans in 15 minutes👇
1. From the bottom, measure how much you need to shorten the jeans + 1.5 cm and draw a line parallel to the bottom. In my case, you need to shorten the jeans by 7.5 cm, I drew a line at a distance of 9 cm from the bottom.
ATTENTION! In this case, I will get a length of 1.5 cm more than what I measured at the fitting. I did this on purpose, as the person at the fitting was without shoes. Also, during the movement, the jeans "creep up", while the fitting takes place in static. If you are a beginner, these 1.5 cm will help you to not make a mistake with the length. It is better after the first line to do another fitting and check the length, preferably in motion.
2. Line up the bottom with the chalk line face to face, stitch in a circle along the bottom hem.
3. I cut off the excess and process the cut on an overlock (or a zigzag stitch on a sewing machine). If you hem a little, only 3-4 cm, then you don’t need to cut anything.
4. I iron the seams well with steam, I direct the allowance up.
5. That's it! You've hemmed your jeans and kept the factory edge.
