Japan isn’t legally allowed to have a military. Under the post-war constitution, Japan is not allowed to have offensive military forces. But Japan has a military to defend the country when attacked.

Big thanks to Kazari for sharing her story.
She used to belong to the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (陸上自衛隊), which is the land warfare branch of the Japan Self-Defense Forces. She is now active as a model, actress and the military support ambassador/spokesperson to get people familiar with it and improve the image in Japan.
