What does Full Site Editing in #WordPress mean for you as a developer?
Existing blocks should still work, as they’re stored in post content. So if you developed a CTA block that you now want to display in the footer with Full Site Editing, that should be fine.
More demand for blocks, block plugins, and #React developers.
Opportunities to create FSE themes.
More opportunities for block plugins. Maybe blocks in contexts, like a footer block that only displays on certain post types or templates.
Probably supporting legacy PHP themes for a long time.
A lot of existing hooks will still work, like wp_enqueue_scripts, some won’t.
The block editor will slowly replace the Customizer.
This could change, as Full Site Editing is marked as Beta.
