Water Speed - 'Redhead' Betters 100 mph: On Wellington's Evans Bay, Len Southward's 2-ton speedboat Redhead breaks the New Zealand and Australian water speed record, averaging 101 miles an hour.
Waipoua is a Forest Sanctuary: At a meeting of the advisory council at the Waipoua Forest Sanctuary the Minister of Forests congratulates all who have worked for the preservation of the forest and its giant Kauri trees.
Sea-Minded Airmen: No. 6 Maritime Reconnaissance Squadron, Royal New Zealand Air Force, in training and at play. Men of the squadron build and sail their own yachts and one man sails to Fiji in his home-built 32-ft yacht. Flying-boat crews practise air-sea rescue work, navigation, and supply dropping by parachute.
