The island is home to a late Gothic monastery dating back to the 15th century. A footpath encircles the island offering approximately 4 kilometers or 2.5 miles of coastline inviting visitors to lay down their towels and enjoy a swim. To the east the monastery lies one of the 2 main beaches and the only restaurant on the island. The second beach is located on the northeastern side just in front of a small islet It is one of the most beautiful pebble beaches with a stunning view.
