Tiril Eckhoff not in the Norwegian team for the 2023 Biathlon World Championships
Norwegian biathlete Tiril Eckhoff was not in the application of the national team for the World Championships in Oberhof. This became known from the published application of the Norwegian biathlon team on the official website.
Five biathletes have been selected for the World Championships, but the door is not completely closed for Eckhoff: the federation says that after the competition in Obertilliach, one reserve biathlete will be selected.
Eckhoff, 32, is a two-time Olympic relay champion and a ten-time world champion. Since May 2022, she has been training individually and has not taken part in the training camp of the Norwegian team. In November, the Norwegian Biathlon Union said that Eckhoff had to take another break, and therefore she would not participate in training or competition in the near future.
The Biathlon World Championship will be held in Oberhof, Germany from 8 to 19 February 2023.
