Together, they carry out commando operations in research laboratories to free animals locked in cages. The day after one of these raids, a scientist is found murdered. Suspicion falls quite quickly on the fiancé, who struggles to justify his alibi. Commissioner Moulin, a good soul, tries to sort fact from fiction while protecting his daughter from the possible fallout from the investigation. Certain clues nevertheless seem to overwhelm the transfixed lover. Moulin has all the trouble in the world to exonerate the accused.
