Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for:
•St. John's and vicinity
Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and torential rain.
Weather radar indicates that multiple lines of thunderstorms have developed over eastern Newfoundland. Heavy rainfall amounts, potentially exceeding 20 mm with pea sized hail and wind gusts up to 70 km/hr may be associated with these storms.
