Anime from 1945 to 1963 saw the release of some incredibly influential works. While most begin their anime studies with Astroboy released on January 1st 1963, the history of Anime is so much more than this single release. Beginning with the Occupation period of Japan, which saw Douglas MacArthur and the SCAP impose policies that would limit creativity, the period saw the release of some great Anime and the development of one of the first Japanese Idol groups "The three sisters". Manga also saw wider readership thanks to the Akabon and the Gekiga genre. Toho would release Godzilla after the infamous Toho labor disputes and Lucky Dragon Number 5 Incident. Toei after first being founded would release Hakujaden the first colour feature Anime. They would then go onto to work with Osama Tezuka on I am Son Goku aka Alakazam the great. Beyond these works there is so much to discuss.
