StarCraft was one of the first series released by the then-fledgling Blizzard Entertainment that helped put the studio firmly in the limelight. The 1998 release was a huge success, not just in PC gaming, but also among other multiplayer and LAN games.

Blizzard Entertainment has since tried to recapture the StarCraft success with planned expansions that haven’t quite panned out. Even after over 20 years, Blizzard Entertainment’s latest StarCraft venture has been canceled before it could be released.
