A 92-year-old is believed to have become the oldest person in Britain to sit a GCSE exam.

Derek Skipper, from Orwell in Cambridgeshire, took the test at Comberton Village College after studying an online adult learning course.

Mr Skipper - a former RAF radar engineer - said his grand-children thought he "was nuts" for becoming a student again.
