How to Fix Cheesy Melodies

Cheesy melodies plague every producer, in every genre, at some point along the process of learning to produce. I still find myself spewing out the cheesiest melodies every once in a while, and over the years I've come up with a few tricks to help turn overly-cheesy melodies into something a little more palatable. I'm hoping this video will help you, wherever you are in your learning process, and whatever genre you produce, to make less cheesy melodies you can feel proud of putting out into the world. I certainly don't mean to imply that none of my music is cheesy, and this particular loop isn't really even a very good example of a non-cheesy piece of music, but I do think the ideas I'm presenting are useful and can certainly help while you think about the best way to write compelling melodies.
