2021 Tesla Model 3 Road Noise on Wet & Dry Roads
You may have heard (pun intended) that Tesla's are actually quite noisy and that was true. We have a video showing that our 2019 Tesla Model 3 SR+ often ranges above 80db's on they highway and how completely unacceptable that is. However, there as a revision to the Model 3 in 2021 and that revision brought in new "lam glass" to the driver and passenger doors. We demonstrate how much of a difference that makes and wonder if they had put dual pane glass into all 4 doors if it would have made an even larger difference.
We point out that this road noise is not specific to the model or version of Tesla, older S, Y and X's, regardless of trim level, all have the same insanely loud road noise heard inside the cabin. It is our understanding that going forward, all Tesla's will now have the double pane glass.
We test our M3 SR+ on both wet and dry roads in real world driving conditions.
