In 1998, The National Education Association (NEA) launched Read Across America, and it has become the nation’s largest celebration of reading. In 2019, the event was rebranded to focus on "Celebrating a Nation of Diverse Readers," rather than just Dr. Seuss. “Diverse stories provide kids with different perspectives and help them see how others think and feel.” (Marley Dias, RAA Ambassador)

This week, March 4th-8th, students and staff will participate in a variety of exciting and fun Read Across America celebrations district wide. The Office of Early Childhood's "We Love Books" Committee has distributed a Thread of Love for every CCSD preschool student. These books are to go home with each preschool child to build their home libraries.
