Hello friend, welcome back! This week we are in full-on summer mode here at the farmhouse. We're taking it slow, lingering longer after meals on the back porch, working in our garden, and sprucing up our home for the summer with some patriotic decor. Join me for these sweet summer days!

Kettle Corn:
In a whirly pop combine 1-2 Tbsp oil, 1/3 cup popcorn kernels and 1/4 sugar over high heat cranking constantly until fully popped. Pour the popped kernels into a bowl or onto a baking sheet to cool. Sprinkle with salt and allow to cool completely. Once cool to the touch, break the popcorn kernels apart and enjoy!
Bug Spray:
Combine 1 cup water, 1 cup witch hazel, 10-15 drops lavender essential oil and 5 drops of peppermint. Again, this recipe seems to only be a short-term deterrent for flies but it also made our porch smell quite lovely!
