In this tutorial, you will learn how to change text direction in Word using a text box.

Method 1: Changing Text Direction in Text Box

Click on the "Insert" tab. From this tab, choose the "Text Box" option in the “Text” group. From the drop-down menu that appears, choose "Simple Text Box". The text box will appear in the Word document. Resize the text box if you want. Click inside the text box, then type in whatever you want to rotate. Then, click or double-click on the text box to select it. This will bring up the "Shape Format" tab in the ribbon at the top of Word. From this tab, click on the "Text Direction" drop-down menu, and select an option to rotate the text. The text will be rotated and the text box will be reshaped accordingly.

Method 2: Changing Text Direction in Table Cells

You can also change the text direction in one or more table cells. Select the cells for which you want to change the text direction and then navigate to the "Layout" tab. In the "Alignment" group of this tab, click on "Text Direction". When you click this button each time, a different direction is applied. Keep clicking the button until the desired direction is applied.
That’s all!
