Today in the guide we will look at the main character of update 1.10, the top of the new branch of Polish medium tanks - CS-63!
So, the main feature of this top is the interchangeable movement mode: standard and afterburner. When switching to afterburner, the tank's engine power increases, its maximum speed increases, and overall dynamics and maneuverability become better. But reloading, accuracy, and camouflage are worse.
The CS-63 has a 105 mm cannon with good one-time damage, 390 units is the average value among its classmates. Basic armor penetration is not the best, rather one of the minimum. But 315 mm sabots will be more effective in some situations than 340 mm cumuli.
It is worth noting that the flight speed of an armored shell is quite good and that of sub-caliber ones is very fast.
With this alpha, its reload time is quite fast - 8.5 seconds. But the gun takes 2.5 seconds to close. But at the same time, the developers gave it good stabilization of the gun when moving/rotating the turret. By the way, its turret traverse speed is excellent: 52.15 degrees/s, Soviet Ob. 430U and Ob. 140 can only envy. And comfortable vertical guidance angles -8...+20° too.
The safety factor is one of the best 2000 units. In terms of hull armor, the CS-63 does not particularly stand out - 80 mm VLD, but the armor plates are located at good angles. Screens along the side will provide additional protection.
Now we come to the most interesting thing about the new tank - mobility. CS-63 feature in changing movement mode:
ordinary (good mobility, but does not stand out from his classmates);
turbo (high speed). Significantly increases engine power and increases top speed
This is the feature of the new top, and it really doesn’t matter that gas turbine engines were developed at that time by anyone except the Poles with their fictitious medium tanks.
In high-speed mode, the speed increases to 70 km/h, which is even more than half of the level 10 light tanks. Specific power increases (it also accelerates very quickly), but gun stabilization, aiming time, and stealth deteriorate.
It also has a good viewing radius of 400 meters. And note that it has the best camouflage ratio in motion.
Now let's see what this tank is like. The CS-63 is armed with a very good gun with good damage per minute and comfortable UVN (-8). The ultimate accuracy and armor penetration leave much to be desired; it is trivial that there are better guns among the STs. Damage of 390 units at level 10 will not surprise anyone. In general, a typical L7 with atypical shells, because in the role of gold there are sub-calibers with 315 mm of penetration.
On the third OT 1.10, side screens were added to the tank (like many Soviet tanks), but this is unlikely to help much, since everything in the hull and armor are bad. The only thing that can save here is a very good slope of the VLD. But in the frontal projection of the turret there really is armor, and thanks to the streamlined shape and small turret, it will indeed be possible to tank with the turret, but not everything.
The tank also has a good top speed in normal mode, as well as dynamics, a nice margin of safety and good basic visibility.
Advantages and Disadvantages of CS-63
