Chandrayaan-2, India's second lunar exploration mission, was launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in July 2019. It consisted of an orbiter, a lander called Vikram, and a rover named Pragyan. The mission aimed to explore the lunar surface, especially the south polar region, in order to gather scientific information about the moon's composition and the presence of water molecules. Although the lander experienced a hard landing and couldn't fully accomplish its mission, the orbiter, which is still operational, provided valuable data and images of the moon. This mission showcased India's technological capabilities and placed India as the fourth country to land on the moon, after the United States, the Soviet Union, and China.
