Valerie's quest & the search for game progression - Pathfinder Kingmaker ep.19
So.... after you finish the troll arc the game just kinda does nothing? For how long? My best guess is there's a timer ticking until the next crisis so the player can catch up on party member quests and explore random locations. This has really thrown a wrench into the game's pacing.
For example, you have this great intro at the Aldori Manor and following that you are thrown into the Stolen Lands to start hunting down the Stag Lord, simultaneously, your rival is off doing their own thing and you are given 2 options of weather to pursue the Stag Lord or Tartuccio, this was great, I loved this.
Almost as soon as the Stag Lord/Tartuccio arc is finished you are presented with a LOT of Kingdom management information, this is overwhelming and I did not think this was so great. While you are still trying to figure out the Kingdom management the game throws the Troll Crisis at you with timed events than can fail quests. Again, not so great.
Finally, after dealing with the troll crisis the game is in a limbo state with it's pacing. What am I supposed to do next? Where's the Main Story line heading? I have no idea. This is pretty damned awful. Is there a quest flag I need to trigger somewhere? Do I need to finish finding the lost boy? I have no idea. I'm going to save this longwinded description as a sort of script for a short "impressions" vid either later today or this weekend sometime.
