I teach Russian as a Foreign Language
Hello!
I am a native Russian speaker - PhD Degree, very passionate about teaching the Russian language, with many years of teaching experience. I have developed my own teaching methodology where a one hour long Russian language lesson with me will be the equivalent of 2-3 hours in the classical way of teaching. I teach General Russian Language (all levels), Business Russian, Medical Russian, Scientific Russian, and Russian for children from Russian speaking families living outside of the Russian Federation.
I have a University degree in Medicine and PhD from the University of Edinburgh (UK). For many years I have been teaching the Russian language both privately and through my course on Udemy (Russian for Beginners, Level I; https://www.udemy.com/russian-for-beg.... This course currently has more than 4600 students from over 135 countries. In addition to having my own private students from various counties including the USA, Canada, and UAE, I teach Russian to South Korean business executives via the biggest South Korean educational company - YBM.
Over the years I have developed my own teaching methodology that I successfully use during my lessons to help my students learn the Russian language. In addition to my own methodology, I combine various learning techniques including conversation, dictation, poetry, grammar, translation, reading, listening, and the use of short stories. I usually try to include at least speaking, reading and learning the grammar rules within each lesson as I found that to provide the best results. I prefer to make my students speak starting with the first lesson. I teach them to make and understand their own sentences rather than just simply memorising already built ones. All my current students speak Russian at various levels and practice reading original works of A.C. Pushkin and M. Bulgakov. Of course, everything depends on student’s level of Russian and his/her personal interests. All lessons are tailored individually depending on the student’s needs, whether they wish to do business with Russian partners, go to Russia on holiday or to read works by famous Russian writers in their native language. I will also give you homework in the form of a movie episode or a video in Russian that you would need to watch between classes. This way two hours of Russian language lessons with me will be equivalent of 4 - 6 hours with any other Russian language teacher. I can teach at all levels starting with the Beginners. For those that have already acquired basic knowledge of the Russian grammar and vocabulary, I am offering an Intensive Russian language course as well as a number of more specialised Russian language courses including:
Business Russian,
Russian language for international students planning to study Medicine in Russia,
and Russian language for those planning to study Science (including chemistry, physics, biology, etc).
Additionally, I am offering to teach Russian to children from Russian speaking families living outside of the Russian Federation.
There are two more points that I would like to highlight here. Firstly, my English is quite good as I have been living in the UK for more than 10 years. This means that it will be easy for me to explain the Russian grammar to you in the English language. Secondly, I offer flexibility to my students. I am happy to adjust the lesson time to your convenience, whether you would like to have a 10 minute, an hour or an even longer lesson. If I am not busy with other students I will do my best to fulfil your requests. I appreciate your time and will try to help you to learn the Russian language in a manner that is convenient for you.
