The No Surprises Act is effectively protecting patients from most surprise medical bills. But the arbitration process to resolve payment disputes between insurers and providers has been plagued by high volumes and ongoing court decisions. This week, we talk with a researcher about why the arbitration process is so messy and why patients may still be bearing the costs of these balance bills.
