Resilience, Perseverance, and Books
I find that what determines whether or not you're into Ascendance of a Bookworm is how much you buy into Myne as a character. It's very easy to consider her annoying, or too conveniently knowledgeable of things immediately applicable to her. However, I'm continually impressed by her. Call it any number of things: Logic, Tenacity, Grit, Motivation, or Perseverance, Myne herself is an example of the value books can provide; not just for pure knowledge's sake, but for how you carry yourself as a person.
