Is Final Cut Pro on iPad worth it? Is a subscription good value for money? Where's the free version?
So in this video I'm just giving my thoughts on the imminent release of Final Cut Pro for iPad as far as as it being a subscription app.
Is Final Cut Pro on iPad worth it?
Even before we look at the subscription model being used for Final Cut Pro on iPad. Considering the competition out there, probably more so DaVinci Resolve and it's fair to say that it and FCP for iPad are going to be the two best apps for video editing on iPad. We have to question the bottom line, is FCP going to be worth it on iPad.
Is a subscription good value for money for Final Cut Pro on iPad?
Considering that FCP on Mac is a one time purchase, this is the first alarm bell for me that makes me question the value of FCP on iPad as far as value for money is concerned. Again, looking at the competition, DaVinci Resolve, and the fact that it has a one time purchase price that's basically the equivalent of two years of yearly subscription for FCP on iPad and more if you paid monthly. This does raise the question of if Final Cut Pro on iPad is good value for money full stop.
Where's the free version of Final Cut Pro for iPad?
Once again, given that FCP's immediate competition on iPad is going to be DaVinci Resolve and there is a free stripped down version of Resolve. Shouldn't Apple really have done the same with Final Cut Pro on iPad and given us a similarly stripped down version? I personally think that Apple have missed a trick here and not given a free versions of Final Cut Pro for iPad.
