Xena: Warrior Princess is an American adventure fantasy action series created by John Schulian and Robert Tapert, that aired aired in first-run syndication from 1995 to 2001. Starring Lucy Lawless as the title character, along with Renee O'Connor as her traveling companion Gabrielle, it follows Xena on a quest to redeem herself for her dark past by using her formidable fighting skills to help people.
In the episode titled "A Fistful of Dinars," Xena is forced to team up with old friends in an effort to prevent a powerful treasure from ending up in the wrong hands. In order to also stay one step ahead of her aforementioned old friends and ensure her part in the search, she eats one of the clues to the treasure's location — a piece of parchment with a map on it — after commiting it to memory.
