Consistency
To become a consistent tennis player, we need to do three main things:
1. Create the right mindset for being a consistent tennis player
2. Eliminate the net, taking it out of play
3. Eliminate the lines by playing with more margin
Being consistent in tennis all starts with having the right mindset.
You have to have consistency at the forefront of your mind, in order to become a consistent tennis player.
If you’re too relaxed, you’ll make too many unforced errors.
Focus on doing whatever it takes to stay consistent and keep the ball in play.
That’s the first step in becoming a consistent tennis player.
Step two is to eliminate the net by playing with a higher trajectory and giving yourself plenty of space to avoid the net.
Think about Rafa Nadal on clay.
Rafa often hits with 2-3 net levels in order to eliminate the net.
Step three is to take the lines out of play by going for bigger targets and playing a few feet within each line.
Painting the lines may feel good when you’re feeling the ball perfectly.
But on a day to day basis, playing with margins will be much better for your consistency.
