I have a YouTube channel primarily to document my journey with cameras. Sometimes I try to make videos that will be "popular" in terms of views for the photography genre and at times, I need to remember just to document what's going on with me and cameras. So, Amboy, CA is a film I made to test filming and color grading, F-Log2, as well as shooting handheld with a cinema rig setup (see Instagram for a post: / cqkvouyu-sz . I'm participating in a One Day Doc Challenge with Art of Documentary so I needed a few projects before the challenge shoot so I can get comfortable with the setup. The lens in this project is one a rented on a whim to try something new; it's a Zeiss Planar T 58mm F/1.4 lens. I adapted the lens with a Fotodiox adapter for EF to X-mount, which has a built-in variable ND filter), pretty cool adapter! I used a Smallrig side and top hand, with a cage by Tilta, on 15" rods, holding a plate and a V-Mount battery, with a Atomos Ninja V for monitor.
