With this method you can't drain oil completely. Risk of damage is great. I drained approximately 3 quarts and then added 3. then repeated proces 3 times. I wasted some oil, but it was easier than doing it recommended way. You can drain through the pan and refill using my method, just keep tab on how much you drained.
