You can tell I've got too much time on my hands lately, but I,ve seen these same garden stakes in many a magazine and DVD used by budding diy hunters as a shooting stick, some of which were better consecuted than others so I thought I'd see if I could do better and set about making my own, their cheap thats for sure and light but still farly strong but wheather theyer any better or not is another thing.
You will need two or three 6ft (180cm x 16mm) garden stakes depending on whether or not you want a two legged or three legged shooting stick,(their a hollow metal pipe with a nobly green plastic finish); also a 1m length of 15mm-13mm pipe insulation which should fit snuggle over the garden stakes, two heavy duty O-rings approx. 1 7/8 inch (48mm)overall diameter 1 ½ inch (38mm) inside diameter and 3/16 (5mm) width, which I pinched from my dads workshop but you should get them at an engineering or automotive supplier, and a 1inch (25mm) long piece of 20mm polyethylene water pipe which I rounded the sharp edges off, oh and a role of insulation tape or cameo tape.
Now for the three legged version you will need another garden stake, a 13-14mm diameter wooden dowel approx 4 inches (100mm) long and a 50mm round head wood screw.
