Nikon 16-35 f4 Un-Boxing and Sample Images
I had a chance to un box this new nikon vr lens. As you all know I am not the biggest fan of f4 lenses nor do I think VR is needed in wide angle. Sure some people say you can use the VR for video but I did not notice much of a difference with it on when i made a sample video.
The lens to me is a nice size, much smaller and lighter than the 24-70 2.8 but that is expected. Ive read that one certain internet reviewer guy who will remain nameless said that this lens is still a little big, hes just crazy and not a pro.
I have posted sample images on my blog for you to check out right here http://bit.ly/cm6Vw8. Sure the lens is sharp and all but its not a 2.8. It just feels like the images dont pop as much from it. It also looks like i am getting some vignetting when wide open at 16. I love my 14-24 and will continue to say thats the way to go. It is more expensive and you cant use regular filters on it but it is amazing at 14 where this 16 is less than amazing at 16.
So there you have it, spend the extra bucks for the 2.8 I think you will be happier.
