Get into Halloween with The Freaskhow!
So here it is...after 1 year exactly from the upload of the initial demo, here's the finished piece! Huge thanks to Alex Pryle of Dead Crown Design for the artwork, he did a great job! So if you need artwork for a great price, he's your guy!
Before even writing a note of this, I had a very clear sound I wanted to go for. I wanted a swaying, haunting and dark acoustic intro, which I later tracked an acoustic track, fully clean electric left, phaser clean right for a wide sound to it. I wanted it to set the scene for what the rest of the track has to offer. It's an instrumental so I had to try to paint a picture with music, but by looking at the artwork you can see the kind of surroundings, and atmosphere the song is a soundtrack for. Overall I wanted it to be a dark, horror type song, but for it to kick ass too. Pretty simple song structure, with nothing too crazy involved, this was for the body of the song. The ending I wanted an epic outro which the solo would lead into, where the whole story the song told, would be resolved, but you can't really tell if it's a positive ending, or negative.
I'm very happy with how it turned out, shame the production of the track isn't as good as it could be, but I worked very hard to get it this good, as it's my first time really trying to get a mix to sound professional.
