SAP Beginner Tutorial 6: What is a Client in SAP ?

This video explains about the Client (in SAP).
Client:
1. Is Highest hierarchial Organizational Unit.
2. Contains it's own master data records and tables
3. Represents a Corporate Group
4. In SAP is three Numerical Digits
5. Is required to be entered by the user for logging on to the SAP system
6. Can have more then one company code
7. in SAP will have it's own access and authorization for the users working on it.

SAP Standard Clients are:
000: This is called as a Standard Client or master client or Golden Client. It is the reference client. It contains the default settings (Tables with default data, default customization setting). There will be no application data (No master data and no transactional data). It is used as working client when support packs are upgraded or when additional languages are implemented or for ABAP load generations.

001: Same as 000. The exception for 001, is with solution manager .

Note: For 000 and 001 Clients, two standard users (SAP* and DDIC) are defined.

066: This client is called as an Early Watch Client and is used for the monitoring and performance.

All the above three clients shouldn't be changed or deleted.
