In this video, I discuss the relationships between low interest rates, central bank money printing, and other distortions in the real economy like oil prices. By artificially suppressing volatility and bailing out risk-takers, the Fed (and other central banks) distort market price signals and ensure that each financial crisis is larger than the last. We are in the late stages of this fiat money madness, where useful commodities trade at negative prices, consumers get paid to borrow but penalized to save, and the money supply is pumped in an effort to keep asset prices high. Like a failing dam, the financial system is springing leaks left and right, and is subject to failure at any time.
