In this tutorial, we will make a converse shoe in blender. This is part 1 of a 3 part series. I find sneakers to be a good modelling exercise. We discuss a lot of modelling techniques and tools. I think it is a much better way to create holes in the quarter (enable LoopTools addon):
"A possible way to make holes in faces is select a center vertex at a cross point and press Shift + Ctrl + B on that vertex. You now have a new square face. Subdivide that face once. Then use Loop Tools - Circle to arrange those verts in a circle."
