First, you need to install Easy Table of Contents on your WordPress. This is very useful plugin which I use to add table of contents on my website.

Once the plugin is installed, you need to go to its settings and make some appropriate changes as shown in this video. On your post, create H1, H2, H3 and so on and insert the table of contents.
