Turkey's Erdogan Calls Netanyahu "Blood-Feeding Vampire" After Rafah Attack
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan launched a scathing attack on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calling him a "psychopath" and "vampire" after airstrikes in Rafah, Gaza, caused a deadly fire in a camp for displaced people. In a speech to his party's legislators, Erdogan said, "The world is witnessing the barbarism of a sick man, a maniac, a psychopath, and a blood-feeding vampire named Netanyahu, live on broadcasts." He blamed the United States and European nations for the deaths and criticised Islamic countries for not taking joint action against Israel. Earlier, the White House condemned the civilian casualties from the Rafah airstrike but stated there would be no policy changes regarding Israel. The U.S. said that Israel's actions in Rafah have not crossed a red line for President Joe Biden to trigger a possible change in US policy.
