Growing Backwards | Tape Loop, OP1, Field Kit FX
In this piece I am processing a piano theme I wrote for play on spies, family, memories and dementia. A pitched down piano loop drifts apart in granular tones from the Gotharman FX deformer. The Koma Elektronik Field Kit FX processes the Field Kit radio, resulting in words that sound sound like flickering memories and wooden rasps and knocks. Ambient strings through the Field Kit FX spring reverb emphasize the impeding nothingness. The intended mood is loneliness in memory, grasping for something and failing.
