In this video we're going to build an Alpine.js component that sends async HTTP requests and tracks the timing and status of each request. We'll extract the component into a separate file so we don't litter our HTML with JavaScript logic.

This builds on a very basic Rails 7 application, but we're focused on the Alpine here, so it's relevant to any server-side stack.

This video is most useful if you've used Alpine before, but we do briefly touch on some of the basics.

00:00 What we're going to build
01:31 Set up Alpine.js with importmap
03:53 Display dynamic data
05:26 Intercept the form submit event
07:09 Extract the Alpine component object
10:17 Submit the request async
13:12 Track request timing
16:35 Refactoring
21:26 Wrap up
