Commands Used in this Tutorial
sudo apt update
sudo apt install apt-transport-https ca-certificates curl software-properties-common
curl -fsSL https://download.docker.com/linux/ubu... | sudo apt-key add -
sudo add-apt-repository "deb [arch=amd64] https://download.docker.com/linux/ubuntu focal stable"
sudo apt update
apt-cache policy docker-ce
sudo apt install docker-ce
sudo systemctl status docker
sudo usermod -aG docker ${USER}
su - ${USER}
Ok installed
We can run docker by simply using the docker command
How do we run containers.
docker run hello-world
docker run ngix
docker run centos
docker images
docker run -it ubuntu
Type exit to quit the container shell
Notice the shell changes to the container id, you are now insider the the container and can install software and do most other things.
remember to commit your changes to the image
docker commit -m "What you did to the image" -a "Author Name" container_id repository/new_image_name
Check what containers are active with
docker ps -a
Eg
docker start 1c08a7a0d0e4
docker stop name
